Million Moms March Against Gun Violence May 14, 2000

A General Board of Church and Society Release

"In the name of Christ, who came that persons might know abundant life, we call upon the Church to affirm its faith through vigorous efforts to curb gun violence." (Book of Resolutions, 1992)
To that end we ask your support of the Million Mom March Against Gun Violence that will take place on Mothers' Day - May 14, 2000 - in Washington, D.C. The Million Mom March is dedicated to the mission of educating our children and our country about the life-threatening danger of guns.

United Methodist United Against Gun Violence will meet at 9:45 AM, 7th and Constitution under the UMC Banner. Please come to the march/rally with a sign or banner representing your church or group affiliation. We want to show a strong UMC presence!

The Interreligious Community in Washington, DC is planning an interfaith worship service at 10:00 AM before the march on May 14th at 7th and Constitution Avenue Stage.

The rally will begin at 12:00 PM following the worship service at the 3rd and Constitution Avenue Stage.
