Juan Vera, the bishop of the Methodist Church of Puerto Rico, ties a white ribbon, a symbol of peace, on the gate of the U.S. Navy's facilities on Vieques. Some 75 Methodist Women from around Puerto Rico came to Vieques on Feb 12, accompanied by Vera, to protest and pray for peace on the island, which the US Navy has used as a bombing range and munitions storage facility.
