Jason sat silently at the table. He pushed the rice and beans into a small mountain in the center of his plate. Then quickly he flattened them out again. His mom wouldn’t like that-she didn’t like him to play with his food.

But he couldn’t bring himself to eat it. Everything formed a big lump in his mouth and he found it hard to swallow. He tried not to cry; after all, he was four years old- -too big to cry.
