Teach and encourage people how to become missionaries commissioned by the General Board of Global Ministries. Located at our headquarter office, the Executive Secretary for Missionary Recruitment is responsible for 1)developing and implementing strategies for the promotion of missionary service opportunities among the community of United Methodist and its parnering churches; 2) oversight and maintenance of the application and selection process, and placement of missionaries; 3)participation ina Missionary Services Training Team; and 4)data base management of missionary records. Domestic and International travel required. The ideal candidate posseses computer proficiency in Windows environment appropriate to position; proficiency with database management; knowledge of Global Ministries' missionary work; ability to effectively communicate with missionaries in person, through correspondence or any other method influenced by advanced technology. This position requires an extremely perceptive person, who is capable of relating to missionary needs. As unique situations present themselves, the incumbent must be sensitive to mission needs and Global Ministries' image. Some travel required.
Requisites
Minimum of three (3) years working with information services and/or personnel related management; Strong planning, development and organizational skills; Excellent written and oral communication.
