Connecting people around the world by serving as a communicator and writer, interpreting the missions of The United Methodist Committee on Relief of The United Methodist Church. UMCOR, a division of Global Ministries - the mission agency for The United Methodist Church, is housed in The Interchurch Center, located at 475 Riverside Drive in New York.
The ideal candidate is an experienced communicator with heavy emphasis on writing, and preferably has been experienced in writing for United Methodist audiences or has exposure writing in theological subject matter. This person would take the lead in telling the story of mission and selling its programs to cultivate new relationships, while solidifying old ones. This persons would take a creative approach in developing stories for web pages and creating brochures that speak to the purpose of the mission programs/projects.

Candidate should have at least 3-5 years of experience in the communications field. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and some knowledge of Excel. Superb writing skills; ability to write succinctly on complex topics especially for web audiences; ability to create soft-sell asks and promotional materials as well as human-interest stories and worship resources. **************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
