 Medicine Box UpdateMarch 27, 2003
Since the inception of the United Methodist Medicine Box® Program in August 1994, United Methodist congregations have donated 2,548 Medicine Boxes. Sometimes Medicine Boxes are purchased through I.M.A. in order to meet the needs. To date, I.M.A. has shipped 2,886 donated and purchased boxes to 41 countries for General Board of Global Ministries-approved projects. Medicine Boxes are desperately needed but contributions have declined in recent years. In the first quarter of 2003, only 17 boxes were donated and received at Interchurch Medical Assistance. In 2002, 57 boxes were donated; in 2001, 107 boxes were donated. |
