Medicine Box UpdateSince the inception of the United Methodist Medicine Box® Program in August 1994, United Methodist congregations have donated 2,557 Medicine Boxes. Sometimes Medicine Boxes are purchased through I.M.A. in order to meet the needs. To date, I.M.A. has shipped 2,938 donated and purchased boxes to 42 countries for General Board of Global Ministries-approved projects. Medicine Boxes are still desperately needed. Even though contributions have declined in recent years, the response shown since the last update on March 27, 2003 has been quite impressive. While only 17 boxes were donated and received at Interchurch Medical Assistance in the first quarter of 2003, more than 111 were donated in the second quarter. We thank very much all participants for this very encouraging response.
