#2: God's Love We Deliver--Food Program.
This paper describes the work of God's Love We Deliver, Inc., a
food delivery program founded by Ganga Stone of New York City. It
describes the steps to how the program was set up.
#3: AIDS: The Preventable Epidemic by Claudia L Webster.
Claudia L. Webster is the author of "AIDS: THE PREVENTABLE
EPIDEMIC, a state curriculum for grades 9-12." This paper
outlines the types of AIDS educational and service programs which can
be done by congregations, no matter what denomination.
#4: Living With AIDS by Terry Boyd.
Terry Boyd was a PLWA who was a member of Lafayette Park United Methodist Church in St. Louis, MO. Focus paper 13 contains a remembrance of Terry written by Cathie Lyons. Terry died on April 17, 1990.
#6: Description of the Covenant to Care Program.
Covenant to Care congregations let it be known in their
communities that"if you have AIDS or are the loved one of a
person who has AIDS you are welcome here."
#7: Planning Retreats for/with PLWAs by E. Marie Wright-Self.
Includes a manual of instructions for conducting a spiritual
retreat with people who are HIV positive in a camp setting.
#8: This Is the Day by Peter Braswell, caregiver. Peter Braswell describes his personal journey of being a caregiver of a PLWA. Included also in this document is a column written by Terry Boyd and a brief resources list.
#9: Retired. Topic was the Center for Disease Control's The National AIDS Information Clearinghouse. For current information, see CDC's National Center for HIV, STD and TB.
#10: Threads of Love--The NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt by Cathie Lyons. "Threads of Love: A Tapestry of Remembrance," is about the Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt. A responsive reading related to the quilt in included and a video resource "Threads of Love" is described.
#11: Children and HIV Infection: On Giving Children, Families and the Future a Chance by Cathie Lyons. Contents: Modes of Infection, The Maternal Link, Clinical Manifestations, Needs, Prevention, Resources, What Churches Can Do.
#12: Basic Information on HIV Infection by Cathie Lyons. An "AIDS 101" page. Also this paper contains "Excerpts from My Eulogy" by Terry Boyd, a PLWA.
#13: Memorials of Terry Boyd and John Michael Mundy. This paper contains memorials of Terry Boyd and of John Michael Munday, who died of AIDS-related complications. There is a litany by Cathie Lyons, a homily by the Rev. Gerald Munday, and a letter by Richard Glodo.
#14: The United States HIV Epidemic: Learnings & Lessons by Cathie Lyons. Also contains "Study Findings on Use of Low Dose AZT with Persons with Asymptomatic HIV Infection" by Gabriel Torres and "Things for Institutional and Direct Service Ministries to Keep in Mind in Response to the HIV/AIDS Epidemic ".
#15: The Global HIV/AIDS Pandemic by Cathie Lyons. This paper updates Focus Paper #1 which is therefore no longer available. #16: Binding Up the Brokenhearted Children by Nancy A. Carter. How to talk to children when someone they know has HIV disease.The paper includes information about different age-level needs of children and has a lengthy bibliography.
#17: "Women Don't Get AIDS: They Just Die From It" (Part 1) by Nancy A. Carter. Also contains "When AIDS Wears a Woman's Face", by Cathie Lyons, and "Avoiding Women," by Robert Marks.
#18: "Women Don't Get AIDS: They Just Die From It" (Part 2) by Nancy A. Carter. Part II is on Prevention Education contains a resource list on Women and HIV/AIDS, Sexuality, Sexual Ethics, and Sexual Addiction.
#19: Healing Ministry of the Church in the 2nd Decade of AIDS by Cathie Lyons. This paper includes a Bible study of Jesus' healing ministry.
#20: "Have I Died Already or Am I Still Alive?" by Cathie Lyons, 1993 The story of "Carl," a nine year old child living with AIDS for whom Cathie is a caregiver.
#21: Report from Berlin, Family Network Start by Charles Carnahan. Highlights from the Berlin Conference, an article by William Nunn about his reaction to the death of his son from HIV, and a story by Michaela Weir about her feelings about her Uncle Jimmy who died from an HIV-related illness. It also has a promotion for CAM, Computerized AIDS Ministries. 11/23/93

#31: The AIDS Memorial Quilt by Debbi Hood Johnson.
The history of the Quilt and how to make quilt panels. Also includes memorials to Debbi Hood Johnson, the author, who was killed in a car accident in February 1996. Her "I Wear a Red Ribbon" is reproduced in this issue.
