United Methodist Global AIDS Fund, Advance #982345: The United Methodist Church has a new opportunity to respond to the global HIV/AIDS pandemic through a new fund. An aspect of the fund is that it specifies 25 percent of what each Annual Conference raises can used in that conference for AIDS work, either locally or in global projects. AIDS Awareness and Children Impacted by HIV/AIDS in Africa, Advance #101218: Addressing the issue of HIV/AIDS on the African continent will be high priority for the General Board of Global Ministries through the next decade. Approaches will include educational programs on the disease and its prevention, community care programs for orphaned children, health coordinator training, and promotional/educational literature.

AIDS Orphan Trust, Advance #982842: Hundreds of thousands of childen in developing countries are being orphaned by AIDS. Many of them are cared for by grandparents or other extended family members, and who also may be living in child-headed households. The goal of this program is to support community efforts to care for orphans by assisting them with their daily necesities, school fees, and moral and spiritual support. 3. Prepare a Healthy Homes, Healthy Families Kit. This infection control and basic care kit contains 22 essential supplies needed to take care of an ailing loved one and prevent the spread of infection.

4. Share the story of AIDS Orphans with others. Get a free DVD of the documentary "A Generation of Hope" from UMCOR.
