November 8-11, 1998. AIDS in Religion in America: Many Faiths, One Commitment sponsored by the AIDS National Interfaith Network at the Carter Presidential Center in Atlanta.
United Methodist
AIDS threat to Africa grows. The United Methodist Church in Zimbabwe continues to respond to the threat of AIDS. Ms. Violet Kanonuhwa receives a $10,000 grant from the General Board of Global Ministries to conduct research at the University of Missouri on the impact of HIV/AIDS on children. The results of her research will be shared by the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and the government of Zimbabwe. See also: Harare Statement, 1983.
