Sacred and Imperishable
When I look at the recollection of the events
around the resurrection of Jesus in Mark 16, I am
aware all evidence says that the gospel
originally ended with verse 8. The remaining
verses were someone’s effort to add important
stories from the other gospels and a few
questionable views from elsewhere to “complete” a
gospel that some, at least, felt was too open
ended.

A Man Died 2000 Years Ago on a Wooden Cross
A man died 2000 years ago on a wooden cross. He
was condemned as a criminal but to this day
millions honor the man crucified and cherish the
crucifixion. ... Every Good Friday and throughout
the year, thousands of followers of Christ
retrace the path through which he carried his
cross.

Breaking Bread Around the World
Maundy Thursday. A day of serious reflection and
prayer. Perhaps silence for some. Perhaps you
will ponder about the conversation that took
place at the Last Supper, about friendship,
betrayal and farewell. For a different view,
let’s the ‘breaking of bread’ in communities
around the world.

The Forsaken The Third Sunday in Lent: Psalm 22
“Don’t stay far away, Lord! My strength comes
from you, so hurry and help” (Ps 22:19). There
is
hope in the Lord. As you remember Jesus’
struggle
in the desert and Gethsemane, as you yourself
struggle during this Lenten Season, remember
those who struggle around the world. Remember
the
children and others affected by HIV/AIDS.

A Farmer's Stories of the Kingdom
William Zawolo is from Pledeye, a village about
10 miles from Ganta. An experienced farmer,
responsible for his wife, 5 children and perhaps
an extended family, he complained when I met him
about the lack of imported chemical pesticide and
fertilizer. He was convinced that this was
responsible for the high incidence of pests and
crop disease on his land. ...
