March 7, 2011, San Jose, Costa Rica--An annual Lenten Prayer Calendar invites prayers for students at the Universidad Biblica Latinamerica (Latin American Biblical University) in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Thirty-nine individuals and one group are included in the 2011 calendar covering the 40 days of Lent (not counting Sundays).

United Methodist Missionary Becky Harrell is instrumental in organizing the calendar from the ecumenical seminary. The school educates many future pastors and Christian teachers for Central and South America and some students from the Caribbean.

Universidad Biblica Latinamerica is a long-stand mission partner of The United Methodist Church.

The Latin American Biblical University is related to two United Methodist agencies, the General Board of Global Ministries and the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry. The group included in the calendar is a class from an educational partnership between the seminary in Costa Rica and the higher education agency. The students, along with two professors, traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, for the program that provides study at the master's level.
