Major Addresses from 2010 Boston Conference on Mission Available on Internet
Boston, Massachusetts, November 23, 2010--The major addresses at a Boston conference marking the 100th anniversary of the World Missionary Conference, Edinburgh 1910, are available online. The internet address is http://www.2010boston.org.
The Boston Theological Institute, a consortium of seminaries in the Boston area, hosted the early November events. Sessions were held at several of the member schools. The Center for Global Christianity and Mission of the Boston University School of Theology, a United Methodist institution, played a major role in organizing the conference.
Dr. Dana Robert, co-director of the center, was among the speakers. She also gave the opening address at Edinburgh 2010, held last June in Scotland. In a video introduction to the series of papers and to the conference, Dr. Robert, a professor of mission at the Boston University seminary, explained that the conference was intended to link students, seminaries, and mission.
The website with the papers also contains links to Edinburgh 2010, to a pre-conference in Japan, and to an October observance of Edinburgh in Cape Town, South Africa. The latter was sponsored by the Lausanne Conference on World Evangelization.
