In the theater of life, are we protagonists? Or
are we spectators?
This question was asked of the diverse group
attending the Living Justice seminar, a five-day
immersion experience offered by the Office of
Deaconess and Home Missioner. The 12 young women
and one man came from a variety of life

The United Methodist leader of the Eurasia Area
believes that the church is "on the right track"
in a vast area extending from the Baltic Sea to
the Pacific Ocean.
Bishop Hans Växby told each of
five annual conference meetings that the church
in the area faces challenges and lacks experience
in some areas but reflects the spirit of
Philippians 3:16, as translated by Eugene
Peterson in The Message: "Now that we're on the
right track, let's stay on it."

Last time I gave a report to the annual
conferences was in 2005, my first year as bishop
in Eurasia. In 2006, I spoke to the conferences
through a series of Bible studies about the
Kingdom of God. Last year I led you in three
teaching sessions about Sharing. This year it is
time again for a report, where I will look back
to the development, comment on our present
situation, and say some words about the direction
for the future.
