September 11 Resources and News Archives

A year ago, the world changed as the result of the events of one day; however God's love for us did not change. Christ's call for us to love God, our neighbors, and ourselves did not change. We grieve for all of the lives that were lost on September 11 and its aftermath. We pray for God's guidance as we offer "Love in the Midst of Tragedy" and continue to support all of our other mission programs around the world.

New Phase of Prayer Life Discovered
Wendy Whiteside

I have been a faithful United Methodist all my life. Although no one can claim perfection in the practice of one’s faith, I have tried very hard my whole life to be faithful to Christ’s teachings. So when the first plane crashed into one of the World Trade Center towers on September 11, 2001, I began a new phase of my prayer life. I cried out to God in much the same way as the psalmist. And my cries grew more urgent as the day progressed.
