When New World Outlook hired Alma Graham in 1991,
the magazine had been without a full-time editor
for almost a year. It had also lost its senior
writer and associate editor. Production had been
cut from 10 issues a year to six. The design was
farmed out to an independent art agency.
Graham, who had developed the grade K-6 social
studies textbook series Our Nation, Our World for
McGraw Hill, wasted no time reviving New World
Outlook. She hired an associate editor. The
General Board of Global Ministries took over the
magazine's design and production.
