When New World Outlook hired Alma Graham in 1991, the magazine had been without a full-time editor for almost a year. It had also lost its senior writer and associate editor. Production had been cut from 10 issues a year to six. The design was farmed out to an independent art agency.

Graham, who had developed the grade K-6 social studies textbook series Our Nation, Our World for McGraw Hill, wasted no time reviving New World Outlook. She hired an associate editor. The General Board of Global Ministries took over the magazine's design and production.

Palestinian children on the rooftop of their Hebron, West Bank, home. The water tank behind them is riddled with Israeli settler gunfire. Israeli forces destroyed the cave dwellings of at least 500 Palestinians in retaliation for the killing of an Israeli settler last week.

General Board of Global Ministries missionary the Rev. Sandra Olewine said that the Israeli military blew up the caves and filled in village wells in the Hebron district after the shooting death of Yair Har-Sinai (51), a settler tending sheep on the outskirts of the settlement of Sussia.
