June 13 - According to NBC News, President George
W. Bush has announced that the U.S. Navy will
pull out of the island of Vieques off the coast
of Puerto Rico. The people of Vieques have been
protesting the military use of their beautiful
island as a training ground and target for
bombing exercises for decades.
