Participate in Assembly

UMW members can participate in the Assembly prior to the event.

Collect a Health Kit for the UMCOR DEPOT, which will have a truck set up in the exhibits area of the Assembly.

A Health Kit contains the following:

• 1 hand towel
• 1 washcloth
• 1 comb
• 1 nail file
• 1 bar of soap
• 1 toothbrush
• 1 tube of toothpaste
• 6 adhesive bandages (such as Band-Aids)

Place items in the towel and tie with string or yarn.

For a complete listing of MATERIAL RESOURCES KITS for Assembly call your Conference President, or order the Material Resources Catalog (#2579) from the Service Center at 1-800-305-9857.

You can bring the kit with you to Assembly or send it with someone who is attending and will deliver it on your behalf. If you want to collect kits but cannot go to Assembly, then:

Send a postcard by May 1, 1998 with this information: ASSEMBLY COLLECTION heading; your name & address; your group s name; your local church name and address, your district and conference; the number & kinds of kit(s) sent; recipient-- UMCOR Depot. Send the card to:

Other ways to be involved before Assembly

They include:

• Making a Quilt Square that illustrates the VISION that we are Making Plain for United Methodist Women. Size: 8" x 8" Design: graphic, picture, poem... (use your imagination!)
• Volunteering to assemble the quilt squares during or after Assembly. Please contact Annette Funk (address above.)
