Update on the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
Congolese rebels backed by Rwanda and Uganda
finally signed a peace accord brokered by Zambian
President Frederick Chiluba to officially end the
12 month old war in the Democratic Republic of
Congo. The signing ended six weeks of squabbling
among the rebels as to whose name should be
affixed to the peace agreement.

Update on the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)-March 29,1999
After refusing to meet with Congolese rebels since
the war started in the Democratic Republic of
Congo, the DRC president, Laurent Kabila, recently
reversed course and has now agreed to meet with
rebels fighting to oust him. Kabila is now asking
the Catholic church in Rome to broker a peace deal
between his government and the rebels.

Update on the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)-March 5, 1999
For the past seven months, the Democratic Republic
of Congo has been a fighting arena for the armies
of several nations. Rwanda, Uganda, and Burundi
have been fighting alongside the Rassemblement
Congolais pour la Démocratie (RCD), a rebel group
trying to overthrow President Laurent Kabila of
the Democratic Republic of Congo.

God is Good in Uganda U.S. Bishop (retired) on Special Assignment in Africa
The people of Bwakama, an area in Uganda, located
deep in the interior, had a dream in July, 1997.
They told the bishop they wanted to build a church
and asked for his help. They repeated the same
story to everyone who came to visit their area.

Miracle of a Bike U.S. Bishop (retired) on Special Assignment in Africa
The district superintendents of the Busia and Arua
districts of Uganda complained that their
territories were so large they were unable to stay
in touch with their pastors and churches. Even the
use of bicycles was limiting, especially in
marshes, thick foliage, and forests.
