UMCOR Emergency Response In Liberia, UMCOR has begun on a proposal to provide training for ex-combatants in farming and blacksmithing. Two strong earthquakes killed 48 people in Indonesia last week. UMCOR has sent an emergency grant to Samoa, which is recovering from Tropical Cyclone Heta.

The Rynkiewich missionary family currently assigned to Papua-New Guinea Michael and Teresa Rynkiewich serve as missionaries of the General Board of Global Minsitries assigned to Papua-New Guinea. They face tremendous challenges in a very poor region of the world where they work in "Family and Community Ministries." Scheduled to return to the U.S. in June for itineration, they write from Papua-New Guinea.
