Amity will rebuild collapsed schools enabling children to resume public  education. 
Within five hours of the May 12 earthquake near Chengdu, China, the Amity Foundation, a Chinese social service organization and Global Ministries’ partner, had sent staff to the city to initiate relief efforts. By 7:00 that evening, Yue Yaomeng, Amity’s project officer for disaster programs, began to assess crisis relief.

Dr. Edith Burgos who is searching for her 38-year old missing son, Jonas, abducted from a busy mall in Manila on April 28, 2007 by four armed men and a woman. “Sometimes I wonder if he has a blanket or a pillow, or if he is being fed,” said Dr. Edith Burgos, her calm voice belying the anguish that only a mother whose son is missing could know. “I wonder if he is being tortured right now even as I speak."

The 50 millionth Bible printed in China has rolled of the presses of the Amity Printing Company in Nanjing, a GBGM Advance Special project, a cause for joyful celebration on December 8, attended by over 200 persons including Bishop K.T. Ting, 93, one of the most influential Chinese theologians in modern history.
