On January 21, 2010, the US government extended "Temporary Protective Status" (TPS) to Haitians. This status permits eligible Haitian nationals to stay and work in the US for 18 months. arrow icon. Historic Law Strengthens US Tobacco Regulations Stronger Tobacco Policies Needed Worldwide, Especially in Developing Countries

In 2007, I lost a wonderful friend and lovely sister-in-law after she succumbed to lung cancer at age 51. "Angie" was diagnosed the first week of April 2007 with stage-four cancer, and died a few months later in September. She left behind a beautiful adult daughter, brilliant and handsome grandson, a husband, brothers, parents, and many who loved her dearly. She had smoked cigarettes for as long as her 30-year-old daughter could remember.
