Esperanza Viva: Living Hope
Immigration.
It's a word that often elicits strong reactions,
no matter what side of the border you stand on.
Reactions like fear, anger, sorrow, or despair.
But in southwest Ohio, some immigrants have
found quite a different emotion:
Hope.

How Many Ways Can a Dollar Give? Fundraising Through UMCOR's Coffee Program
I didn't know anything about farming. I'd
never
grown anything before; I didn't even know how to
grow a tomato. I owe everything to ASPROCAFE.
They
saved my life. They trained me; they gave me
seeds
and loans to get started.

Hallelujah Moment from Colombia: "Today All the People Laughed!"
With tears in his eyes, Bishop Juan Cardona
said to me, "Lu, I don't know what you did with
the people of the town, but for three years we
have been having recreational activities with
the children, bringing psychologists, clowns,
etc., and we were never able to make them smile.
When I arrived, I saw the people's happiness and
I couldn't understand what was happening when
today all the people laughed!"
