Kona sits with a refugee family from Algeria. In June 1971, I graduated from Mulungwishi Seminary. I married Kona Kuleya and we are parents of nine children, with two more adopted children living with us now. My father was one of the first African Methodist pastors in Kapanga. In due course, I accepted the call to become a pastor. I wanted to be a missionary, but by the time I was a teenager, I gave up this hope, perhaps because all the missionaries I saw then were White. I believed it was impossible for a Black African to become a missionary.
