In August 1998, a bomb leveled a building and destroyed part of the U.S. embassy in Kenya, killing more than two hundred people and injuring thousands. UMCOR responded within the week with a grant and began plans with Act for Churches Together (ACT) to address the immediate and long-term psycological needs of the bomb blast victims.
