The "Parish Partners" Advance provides salary support to pastors in vital ministries of evangelism, stewardship, Christian education, outreach and service.

four Parish Partners are:
In the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference, the Rev. Anita Phillips strives to strengthen the mission of Christ United Methodist Church, Claremore, Okla. In addition to completing a new building project, Ms. Phillips continues to work with a large group of children and youth in the church. She helps them understand what it means to express their faith by being in service to others. During the spring and summer, the children and youth are involved in a planting project for older adult members of the. The youth raise money to buy the flowers and other supplies and do the physical work. Many children and youth come to church without their parents. Church members serve as their surrogate families. "If the church can offer an alternative for children and youth, we find that they will take advantage of it."Anita Phillips,
pastor, The 92 Native American churches in the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference represent more than 37 tribes in Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas. Native American pastors in the conference are in ministry with people who struggle to survive, day-to-day, against poverty and despair in rural and urban communities. Your sacrificial gifts through the Advance for Christ and His Church will help to provide salaries to Ms. Phillips and other pastors in the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference as they witness to their faith in God. |
