United Methodists distribute nearly $300,000 to burned churches

To date, the United Methodist Board of Global Ministries has approved grants totaling $299,350 to assist burned churches.

The latest distribution came March 16-20, when board representatives met with denominational conference officials and pastors of burned churches in South Carolina, Florida and Mississippi. Grants included:

Previously distributed grants included $90,000 to First Rocky Point Missionary Baptist Church in Summitt, Miss.; $65,300 to Mt. Olive Full Baptist Church in Riverdale, Ga.; $3,050 to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Ladonia, Texas; and $7,000 to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Wolfe City, Texas.
