Susanna Annesley, daughter of a dissenting (or Puritan) clergyman, married Samuel Wesley. One of the 19 children they had was John Wesley. Ten of the children lived to be adults, three boys and seven girls. John Wesley's brothers were Samuel and Charles. Samuel was the oldest brother.
