UMCOR DepotWith the UMCOR Depot, located on the Sager Brown site in Baldwin, Louisiana, United Methodists have an opportunity to expand their mission. The Depot holds material resouces, enabling an immediate response to disasters and other urgent needs within the United States and throughout the world. The Depot grew out of the destruction caused by Hurricane Andrew in 1992. The Women's Division of the General Board of Global Ministries, which owns the Sager Brown site, offered its use to UMCOR as a temporary staging area for relief operations following the hurricane and then for long-term disaster response efforts. United Methodist Women and UMCOR are working together to keep the Depot supplied with material resources, ready to respond to domestic and international emergencies.
