This summer,  United Methodist Women members and others will gather to study "Global Health and Christian Response-ability" at conference schools of Christian mission.  They will be challenged to look beyond our own health care system and issues to a global perspective.

Dana E. Jones, editor of Response, says that this issue will tell us courageous stories of women trying to meet healthcare needs of others in their community.

"For example, Julia Mulaha, two-time cancer survivor, shares her personal journey and how it has been the inspiration for her founding of the first breast-health program in her homeland of Kenya," says Ms. Jones.

Indigenous women in Nicaragua share how they are reclaiming traditional remedies, Zimbabwean women care for children orphaned by AIDS, sisters in Burundi teach reproductive health, and much more.

"This issue provides stories of hope that model how women can make a difference in the health of their neighbors," says Ms. Jones.
