"Making Diversity Priority" by Carol Marie Herb

The United States government does not represent the only country trying to prevent further influxes of immigrants and asylum seekers. The United Kingdom also faces immigration rights issues and problems with racism against immigrants. The Methodist Church of Great Britain combats this racism and champions immigrant rights. As this article shows, it's a battle. But, it's one the Church feels is very necessary.

"Women's Division Directors: 1996-2000"

The Women's Division is the official, national policy-making body for United Methodist Women. It comprises 50 directors, elected through organizational processes. This issue contains the directors photographs, hometowns, and conferences.

"Women and Literacy" by Edith Loane

Edith Loane, President Emerita, of the World Federation of Methodist Women writes that an inability to read or write marginalizes many persons "from education, communication, and spiritual development." So, the World Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women chose "Women and Literacy" for the 1997 program and study. This letter contains a worship service to raise awareness about this issue.

"God's Covenant with Everything" by Pamela Sparr

This article explores environmental justice as a comer stone of the Bible's teachings. To nurture a relationship with God, people have to pay close attention to their environmental surroundings. This article looks at defending the environment; covenants and creation; creation and salvation; and our task.
